Mr. Fredrick Siwale

Managing Director
Mr. Fredrick Siwale is a seasoned banker with more than 15 years’ experience in financial services having started his career here at CRDB Bank in 2004. Before his appointment as the Managing Director, he served as Head of Global Markets in the Department of Treasury, a position he has held since December 2019. He has extensive expertise and experience in capital markets & treasury management, branch operations, as well as, banking operations. Mr. Siwale’s career in banking started in earnest in 2004, when he joined CRDB Bank Group as a customer adviser in the Retail Department. His tenacious ambition saw him move up the career ladder to the Treasury Department, where he started of as a dealer in 2006; then served in various positions including as Treasury Dealer – Forex, Treasury Manager – Forex and Senior Manager Manager – Global Markets, until his latest appointment. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Dar-es-Salaam (UDSM). He also has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PG-BA) and an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration, both from the College of Business Education (CBE) in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. Besides the strong academic credentials, Mr. Siwale has an ACI certification in trading and has undertaken numerous executive management training programs including the Senior Executive Program from Harvard School of Business in the U.S.A and Senior Executive Program from Stellenbosch in South Africa.

Mr. Médiateur Muhire

Deputy Managing Director
Mr Médiateur MUHIRE joined CRDB Bank Burundi in 2023 as the Deputy Managing Director. Prior to his role at CRDB Bank Burundi, he worked for 2 years as the Commercial Director at BBCI Bank Burundi. Before his time at BBCI Bank, he held the position of Head of the Treasury Department and Management Control at BANCOBU starting in 2020. His journey at BANCOBU began in 2010 as a Relationship Manager, and in recognition of his exceptional performance and dedication, he was promoted in 2013 to the role of Head of Licensing, Transfer, and Exchange Service. In 2017, he continued to advance in his career and assumed the position of Head of the International Department at BANCOBU, where he successfully oversaw and managed international operations. Additionally, he serves as a distinguished member of the Board of Directors for CORILAC, contributing to strategic decision-making and governance.

Mr. Arnaud Rugema

Director of Corporate Banking
He joined the Bank on March 11, 2013 as Relationship Manager. In 2016, he was promoted to Head of Business Development of CRDB Bank Burundi SA. Before joining CRDB Bank, he worked at Finbank Burundi SA, a subsidiary of Access Bank Plc (Nigeria) from 2009 to 2013 where he worked as Marketing Officer, Credit Analyst and Corporate Relationship Manager within the Commercial Department. Mr. Arnaud Rugema holds a High Diploma in Banking from the University of Milpark in South Africa and a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Management from Uganda Martyrs University. He also acquired training in banking at the Access Bank School of Banking Excellence in 2009 in Lagos, Nigeria.

Mr. Paul Ayumwi Mlay

Director of Finance and Administration
He joined the bank on 1st October 2012 as Head of Finance and Administration. Before joining CRDB Bank Burundi he worked for three years as Chief Internal Auditor for Akiba Commercial Bank plc and two years as Manager Internal Audit with Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania. Prior to that, he had started his career in CRDB Bank plc where he worked as a Bank Officer for two years before he was promoted to a Branch Controller for five years. He is a Certified Public Accountant (T), Certified Professional Banker (TIOB) and holds an Advanced Diploma in Certified Accountancy from the Institute of Development Management, Mzumbe.

Mr. Deusdedit Lucas Mchomba

Director of Credit
He joined CRDB Bank Plc on 3rd November 2003 as Credit Officer and later on was promoted to Manager Loan Approval Retail a position held until July, 2013 when he was transferred to CRDB Bank Burundi S.A to be Head of Credit. He holds Masters Degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from University of Coventry UK, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) International Business Administration from University of Lincolnshire and Humberside UK and Advanced Diploma in Business Administration from Institute of Development Management (IDM) - Mzumbe.

Mr. Icare Gafurero

Director of Banking Operations
He joined the Bank in March 2013 as Senior Manager in charge of operations and control. In 2018, he was promoted to Head of Risk and Compliance Department of CRDB Bank Burundi SA. Before joining CRDB Bank, he worked at Finbank SA, a subsidiary of Access Bank Plc (Nigeria), from 2010 to 2013 where he worked as Internal Control and Compliance Officer and Head of Human Resources. He holds a Professional Banking Diploma - Institut des Techniques Bancaires (ITB) and a BA in International Business Administration from the United States International University - Africa (Kenya).

Mr. Prosper Nyenimpundu

Director of Risk and Compliance
He was promoted to Head of Treasury in December 2014. He joined the Bank in December 2012 as an Executive of the Treasury Dealer. His career as Treasury Dealer began in 2010 after a professional training at the School of Banking Excellence of Access Bank in Lagos, in 2009. Covering all the functions of the Treasury, he gained more than 7 years of experience in the banking sector and has worked for other financial institutions (KCB Bank Burundi and Finbank Burundi, a subsidiary of Access Bank Plc Nigeria. He holds a BA in Economics and Statistics from Uganda Martyrs University.

Mr. Ernest Ngendakumana

Director of Treasury and Capital Markets
He joined the bank on 1st April 2014 as Branch Manager. He held this position until 30th April 2020. From 1st May 2020, he was promoted to the Position of Head of Banking Operations. Before joining CRDB Bank Burundi S.A, he worked for KCB Bank Burundi LTD from 2012 to 2014 as Branch Manager. Eearlier, he also worked for five years (from 2007 to 2012) with Finbank Burundi, an Access Bank Company where he worked in different positions as Trade Finance Officer, Supervisor of Trade Finance Operations, and Relationship Officer in Corporate Banking and later as Internal Control and Compliance Officer. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Economics) at National University of Rwanda.

Mme. Bella Niyuhire

Director of Internal Audit
Bella Niyuhire joined CRDB Bank Burundi S.A. in January,2016 as a Senior Internal Auditor. Was appointed as the Head of Internal Audit Department in February,2023. Mme Bella Niyuhire has 13 years’ experience providing audit, assurance, and advisory services to mainly the banking, insurance, telecommunication industries and non-governmental institutions in Burundi and neighbor countries. Prior to joining the Bank, she has been actively participating in the supervision and execution of financial statement audit and assessment of internal control systems at GPO Partners Burundi, an audit firm. Mme Bella Niyuhire hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Université du Lac Tanganyika and is a member of The Institute of Internal Auditors.
